In the spirit of fostering academic excellence and international collaboration, the Ng Ghit Cheong Foundation took a significant stride in 2011 by establishing the Ng Foundation China Leadership Scholarship. A momentous cash gift of S$750,000 was generously contributed to the Nanyang Center for Public Administration at Nanyang Technological University .
This visionary initiative was further amplified through a remarkable 1-1 government matching grant, resulting in an impressive endowment fund of $1.5 million. This fund serves a noble purpose—to pave the way for aspiring scholars, primarily hailing from Putien, to pursue master’s degrees at NTU’s prestigious Mayor Class programs.
